Boot Camp and Fall Regional Trainings will be held virtually via Zoom. Registration information for the training sessions will be sent via GovDelivery Listserv third week of August. If you do not receive this Listserv email by Aug. 25, email a member of the Data Team.
Boot Camp Training
Office of Enhancing Student Opportunities' Data Team offers one full-day training for new District and ESD staff responsible for reporting special education data. This in-depth training covers December Special Education Child Count (SECC), June Special Education Exit and Special Education Child Find (Indicator 11).
The purpose of these trainings is to familiarize new staff responsible for submitting Child Count, June Exit and Child Find data. Topics include data to be reported, how to report the data, how the data are used, common problem areas, the need for accurate and timely data submission, and navigation of the IDEA Data Manager and Consolidated Collections.
Boot Camp is a full-day training held in late September or early October. Each training session will be virtually held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with time for lunch and breaks. Due to the training content, slots are limited and registration is required. New staff will take priority.
The Boot Camp will be held on Tuesday, September 24.
Fall Regional Training Sessions
The Data Team will offer two trainings for all staff responsible for reporting special education data. These trainings outline collection updates for December Child Count, June Exit and Child Find, and respond to District and ESD questions.
Regional Trainings are a half-day training held in October and early November. Each training session will be virtually held from 9 a.m. to noon, with time for a break. Staff are welcome to attend whichever training works best.
The webinar will be held Wednesday November 13.
Recorded webinar
The Data Team will pre-record the Fall Webinar and post the video recording to the District Training page before December Child Count opens. The webinar is a repeat of the two virtual sessions, covering Child Count, June Exit and Child Find.
Video Training Session
All sessions are from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Information will be available on the ODE Video Training webpage. Video training session dates are currently tentative and will be finalized at a later date.
- TBD: Spring collections – June Special Education Exit, Special Education Child Find (Indicator 11) and Post School Outcomes. This session will be held via Zoom.
A video and presentation materials will be available on the Video Training webpage prior to the webinar. Afterwards a recording will is posted within a week.
