SafeOregon is a way for students, staff, or other members of the public to anonymously report and share confidential information of a threat of a potential threat to student safety. Trained call center staff are available 24-hours-a day, 365 days a year to receive tips by phone, text, mobile app, email, or website.
Information received through the tip line is analyzed and forwarded to designated point of contacts at the school such as the principal, assistant principal, or counselor for response. Local law enforcement may also be contacted if the school requests assistance and/or the incident is a critical life safety matter.
SafeOregon became Law through HB 4075 (2016) as a result of recommendations from the Oregon Task Force on School Safety charged with improving safety and security at schools across the state.
NOTE: SafeOregon is NOT a complaint line, crisis line or replacement for 9-1-1.
