For 2020-21 Guidance, See Comprehensive Distance Learning

Distance Learning for All represented Oregon's response to emergency school closure during the 2019-20 school year. While many of the resources housed here are still valid for planning for the 2020-21 school year, this Distance Learning for All guidance was sunsetted on June 30, 2020. It is retained here as an archive for reference only.

Guidance for the 2020-21 school year can be found on the Ready Schools, Safe Learners page. Schools may choose a Comprehensive Distance Learning model for 2020-21, and if emergency school closure is needed, Short-Term Distance Learning requirements will take effect. The guidance and supporting resources continue to anchor in care, connection and continuity of learning as we collectively work to ensure access and opportunity for our students, especially those who have been historically underserved in our education system.

Tool #2: The Distance Learning Capacity Framework: A conceptual framework to help districts evaluate their capacity for distance learning. It is designed to provide multiple entry points based on readiness.

The Oregon Department of Education developed Instructional Models to help support educators, students, and families in the continuation and delivery of learning. The Learner-Centered Model focuses on student voice, choice, flexibility, and deeper approaches to learning. The Teacher-Centered Model focuses on providing a familiar and consistent structure that most resembles direct instruction. The Hybrid Model combines familiar instructional routines with authentic learning experiences. A variety of strategies, resources, and suggested schedules are in​​cluded to empower teachers in supporting distance learning.
