Renewable Energy Development Grants, or RED grants, supported individuals and organizations that invested in renewable energy systems. Program funds were exhausted in 2019, but some compliance work remains as awarded projects are completed.
The Oregon Department of Energy filed final rules with the Secretary of State on January 9, 2024. The rulemaking added an exemption to the renewable energy development grant program requirement that construction begin within 12 months of the performance agreement being executed. The rulemaking went into effect January 10, 2024.
ODOE is accepting written comment on amendments to the draft rules for the Renewable Energy Development Grant Program. You can submit your comments by email or mail to the addresses listed below. The public comment period will close on November 29, 2023, at 5 p.m. Comments received after this date will not be considered in the rulemaking process.
