Title IV-A Student Support and Academic Enrichment (SSAE) Grant

Title IV, Part A - Student Support and Academic Enrichment Grant

Title IV-A is intended to increase the capacity of State educational agencies (SEAs), local educational agencies (LEAs), schools, and local communities to:

  1. Provide all students with access to a well-rounded education
  2. Improve school conditions for student learning, and
  3. Improve the use of technology in order to improve the academic achievement and digital literacy of all students.

Title IV-A is based on three important ideas:

  1. There is more to education than just the core. A well-rounded education promotes a diverse set of learning experiences that engages students across a variety of courses, activities, and programs.
  2. The whole student matters. Effective conditions for learning begin with assuring students’ social, emotional, and physical safety.
  3. Classroom can be transformative. Technology can accelerate, amplify, and expand the impact of effective practices that support student learning.

Title IV-A Allocations

In order to receive a Title IV-A allocation a district must have received and accepted a Title I-A allocation in the previous year.
