Scored Student Work Samples - High School
Overview
To help students, teachers, administrators, and parents learn what the expectations are for reading work samples used to demonstrate proficiency in the Essential Skill of Reading, the site makes available sample or "anchor" papers that show varying levels of performance, grouped by the selection students read and responded to in the Spring 2009 Field Test.
These papers may be used for teacher training, informational documents, scoring practice with students, other audiences, or for other uses.
In addition, to create efficiencies in work sample collection, as well as to provide practice for students in anticipation of ELA Performance Task Assessments, a panel convened by ODE developed and field tested a task that could be scored for multiple purposes: as a reading task, a writing task, and as a ELA Performance Task-like practice opportunity.
