Carbon Monoxide Detection
The
Healthy and Safe Schools (HASS) Plan promotes transparency around carbon monoxide detection by school districts, ESDs, and charter schools by certifying that all buildings subject to the HASS Plan comply with the
carbon monoxide detection standards in the state building code which was in effect when the building was originally constructed or as required by building code due to addition, upgrade, or remodel. Carbon Monoxide is a by-product of combustion and can cause dizziness, loss of consciousness, and death.
