School Level Expenditure Report

School Level Expenditure Report:

Welcome to Oregon's School Level Expenditure Report. This interactive dashboard provides transparent financial information about K-12 education spending across our state's 1,300+ schools. You can explore per-pupil expenditure data, compare schools within districts, view funding sources, and track changes over time. Use the filters to customize your view by district, school type, or year to find the specific information you need.

Dashboard Details and Methodology
This dashboard fulfills reporting requirements under Section 1111(h)(1)(C)(x) of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA), as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). It displays school-level expenditures of Federal, State, and Local funds, including actual personnel and non-personnel expenditures, disaggregated by source of funds.

The dashboard includes multiple report views:
District to School PPE Comparison: Compares district-wide Per Pupil Expenditure (PPE) amounts by funding source to each school's Average Daily Membership (ADM).

PPE Year over Year Comparison: Allows comparison of Per Pupil Expenditures and District ADM averages across multiple years.

District School Type and Fund Percent by School: Displays school PPE by funding source relative to school ADM, with percentage breakdowns of State, Local, and Federal funds.

Please Note: Before the 2021-22 school year Federal Expenditures were not tracked, so the 2019-20 Federal PPE metric is $0. The 2020-21 metric for Federal PPE is low due to inconsistent reporting.
