2015 - 2017 Grants
Oregon Accelerated College Credit Program Grant
This grant will provide $40,000 for partnerships between Oregon Public school districts, Oregon Education Service Districts, Regional Consortium and/or Oregon Public postsecondary institutions to encourage, support and facilitate development and implementation of Accelerated College Credit opportunities for at risk students to create a college going culture for those students. Funds will be used for training, support materials for students, teachers, and institutions. Preference will be given to those regions that have high poverty rates, large historically underrepresented student populations, and did not already receive funds from the Regional Promise grant.
The School District Collaboration Grant Program was established by the 2011 State Legislature to provide funding for school districts to improve student achievement through the voluntary collaboration of teachers and administrators to implement new approaches to: career pathways for teachers and administrators; evaluation processes for teachers and administrators; compensation models for teachers and administrators; and enhanced professional development opportunities for teachers and administrators.
The Oregon Legislature in collaboration with the
Oregon STEM Investment Council, the
Chief Education Office, and the Oregon Department of Education funded several STEM-related grant programs for the 2015-2017 biennium. These programs are described in
House Bill 3072, passed in 2015. Updated information for all the STEM Education grants are posted regularly to this page, include videos and Q&A documents from webinars.
The Secondary Career Pathways Funding was established by the Oregon Legislature through HB 3072. This is a first attempt at a sustained funding source for Career and Technical Education (CTE). It is intended that the funds allocated through this program will incentivize intensive CTE Programs of Study that lead to high wage and high demand occupations.
K-12 Biliteracy Pathways Grant: In 2015, HB 3499 was passed, which focuses the state’s resources and attention directly on improving outcomes for English Learners (ELs). This includes developing a statewide plan of support for districts and schools that serve these students. A new grant program under HB 3499 supporting the development, improvement and evaluation of K-12 biliteracy pathways was created to assist the state in identifying model EL instructional practices and programs for statewide replication.
Regional Promise Grant
The Regional Promise Grant of 2015-2017 is intended for the development and/or expansion of consortia of educational service districts, school districts and post-secondary institutions building collaborative, innovative, and flexible ways to foster a college-going culture across the region and to create additional opportunities for high school students to participate and earn credit in college-level courses.
