The Commission's response reduced the number of PDUs required for renewal and reinstated the licenses, dependent on the valid term of the license being renewed. As the COVID restrictions were lifted, the Commission slightly revised the COVID guidance for ease of calculation of PDUs in the coming years. During the month of July in 2020, Dr. Rosilez met with multiple stakeholders expressing concern about the reopening of schools and how to best serve Oregon’s students. Those meetings resulted in a Commission temporary rule and resolution for adopting that rule to guide districts in “misassigning” teachers in certain circumstances for the 2020-2021 school year. This flexibility was in no way permission to assign any teacher to any classroom. Schools and districts had to carefully consider the information in these documents, and reported these misassignments to TSPC (Elizabeth.keller@tspc.oregon.gov) on the provided spreadsheet template by October 31, 2020.The COVID Temporary Misassignment Guidance is not valid for the 2021-2022 school year.
