Update from Teacher Standards and Practices Interim Executive Director
In recent weeks, we have seen a number of federal government executive orders and communications about schools, staff, and students. We at Teacher Standards and Practices are actively assessing these orders and communications for any impact they have on Oregon. At this time, there is no change to our work and TSPC’s commitment to supporting the success of every student through our work remains steadfast.
We believe that each of our students and educators belong in Oregon schools. We believe what research reflects: that representation matters in our classrooms and our leadership. We believe the diversity of our students and staff is a strength in our education system. We believe that our collective responsibility is to ensure our schools are safe spaces for students, staff, and families. Because of these beliefs, we would like to ensure your awareness of how TSPC operates in key areas.
