The Land Conservation and Development Commission (LCDC), with support from the department, consults with the Local Officials Advisory Committee (LOAC). Per
ORS 197.165, the committee promotes mutual understanding and cooperation between the LCDC and local government in the implementation of ORS chapters 195, 196, and 197 and the goals. Members of the LOAC are appointed by the commission. Membership is intended to reflect the city, county, and geographic diversity of the state.

Per LOAC By-Laws, Article I Section I, LOAC is comprised of persons serving as city or county elected officials. LOAC members are appointed to four-year terms.
