Registration Period Increased for Physician Postgraduate Limited Licenses

The Oregon Medical Board updated the limited licensure rule for physician postgraduates (LLPG) increasing the maximum registration period up to five years. See OAR 847-010-0051 for full details.

This update is now available in our system when a postgraduate applies for a limited license. On the page where the LLPG applicant enters intended practice location and dates, we've added a section to select the number of whole years, with options 1 through 5.  Please note, any partial year counts as a full year for the purpose of the annual fee and the fee must be paid in full at time of application, $185 per year.

For postgraduate physicians who wish to continue utilizing the annual application for a one-year limited license, nothing in the rule prevents them from doing so.

Please follow up with our licensing staff if you have questions about the LLPG application process, licensing@omb.oregon.gov or 971-673-2700. Thank you for your input and collaboration on this update.
