The Oregon Medical Board updated the limited licensure rule for physician postgraduates (LLPG) increasing the maximum registration period up to five years. See
OAR 847-010-0051 for full details.
This update is now available in our system when a postgraduate applies for a limited license. On the page where the LLPG applicant enters intended practice location and dates, we've added a section to select the number of whole years, with options 1 through 5. Please note, any partial year counts as a full year for the purpose of the annual fee and the fee must be paid in full at time of application, $185 per year.
For postgraduate physicians who wish to continue utilizing the annual application for a one-year limited license, nothing in the rule prevents them from doing so.
Please follow up with our licensing staff if you have questions about the LLPG application process,
licensing@omb.oregon.gov or 971-673-2700. Thank you for your input and collaboration on this update.
