The information in these documents is initial and subject to change on a daily basis as our analysts process the varying information that they collect. The information is considered initial until it is published in our annual publications and data sets. Please contact ODOT TDS Crash Report Request Group for any questions or clarifications. This information will be updated weekly where applicable.

Initial Fatal Crash Information Viewer - Now Available!

The CAR Unit Initial Fatal Crash Information Viewer contains initial information on fatal crashes in Oregon and is subject to change on a daily basis as more information becomes available and is evaluated. Some fatal crashes may be removed if they do not meet our reporting criteria, others may take time to get entered as there are often delays in receiving information.

Here is a collection of self-service crash data tools and frequently requested crash data products. Please refer to these tools and products before reaching out to the ODOT TDS Crash Request Group to request crash data.

Crash Data Tools

Crash Data Viewer

The Crash Data Viewer, or CDV, is a tool currently in development that allows users to view, filter, and query the State of Oregon’s crash data spatially. The CDV contains the latest 10 years of published crash data and numerous built-in filters to help users visualize different attributes contained within the crash data.

Other Crash Data Tools

• TDS Crash Reports: Use this online portal to directly access crash data in a variety of formats. View and download crash data for specific roadways, roadway segments, or entire jurisdictions.
• TransGIS: Use this web-based interactive mapping tool to identify specific crash locations and perform geospatial analysis. Crash data layers within TransGIS present a simple view of point locations of crashes and summary data for the most recent five years of available crash data.
• Oregon Transportation Safety Data Explorer: Use this web-based interactive mapping tool to identify the most beneficial engineering projects to improve traffic safety on Oregon roads, with an emphasis on reducing fatal and serious injury crashes.

Crash Data Products

• Microsoft Access Decode Databases: Use these Microsoft Access database files to work with our crash data in a tabular format.

A higher number of crashes are reported for the 2011 data file compared to previous years. This does not reflect an increase in annual crashes. The higher numbers result from a change to an internal departmental process that allows the Crash Analysis and Reporting Unit to add previously unavailable, non-fatal crash reports to the annual data file. Please be aware of this change when comparing pre-2011 crash statistics.
