Public Notice and Comment Opportunities
Oregon Coastal Management Program (OCMP) provides the public the opportunity to comment on federal actions, federal permits/licenses, and during planning efforts for ocean, estuarine, and shoreland resources. The program also conducts outreach to stakeholders via a wide variety of low-traffic listservs.

Ocean Policy Advisory Council
The Oregon Ocean Policy Advisory Council (OPAC) is the legislatively mandated marine policy advisory body. It provides, among other statutory charges, advice to the Governor, state agencies and local governments on ocean policy and resource management matters (ORS 196.433). OPAC has a diverse membership made up of representatives from coastal community interests, state agencies, conservation interests, and the general public.
Find out about upcoming OPAC meetings and how you can get involved.
Coastal Partner Network Meetings
Each year OCMP convenes several meetings of coastal partners to serve as a forum for exchanging information and keeping network members up to date. In the spring, there are two coastal partner meetings: on the north and south coast. In the fall, coastal partners from the entire coast convene in one location. These meetings are an excellent networking and information sharing opportunity and all are welcome to attend! Learn more.
Watershed Councils
A watershed council is a group that meets regularly in local communities to assess conditions in a given watershed (usually a river or creek and the lands that drain into them) and to conduct projects that restore or enhance the waters and lands for fish and native plants in their areas. Oregon is one of the few states to have this community-based model – supported by the state and recognized by local governments – to focus on restoring land and water from "ridgetop to ridgetop."

Citizen Science
Get involved in Oregon's coastal management! Citizen science is defined as "the collection and analysis of data relating to the natural world by members of the general public, typically as part of a collaborative project with professional scientists." Find out how you can get involved in citizen science projects with Oregon’s Coastal Management Program.
