Cleaner Air Oregon and Asbestos Fees 2024

Adopted rule

Administrative Order No.: DEQ-14-2024
Filed and Effective: Sept. 10, 2024
See Oregon Bulletin, October 2024
Rulemaking contact: Megan Duenas, 503-887-7934

The adopted rules increase Asbestos and Cleaner Air Oregon program fees by three percent.

Costs to operate Oregon's Asbestos and Cleaner Air Oregon programs have increased over the last two years due to inflation and require the proposed funding increases to continue to provide essential program services.

State law authorizes DEQ to increase fees by the annual change in the costs of implementing the program, or three percent, whichever is lower.

DEQ convened an advisory committee to review the technical issues and fiscal impacts related to  the proposed rules. In convening this committee, DEQ appointed members that reflected the range of entities that are both directly and indirectly affected by proposed changes to the rules.
