Using Easy Inspection Scheduling

Visit BuildingPermits.Oregon.gov

Registration on the ePermitting website is not required to schedule inspections.

It is recommended to use Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Apple Safari to access the ePermitting website. The website may not work with other browsers.

If the permit application was submitted more than five years before the current date, follow the steps at this link to schedule the inspection.

Find your permit

  1. Select Schedule at the top of the screen, then click on Easy Inspection Scheduling.

  2. This will open the Easy Inspection Scheduling webpage in a new tab. The Building inspection type will be selected by default. If you need to schedule an Onsite or Public Works inspection instead, select the appropriate tab.

  3. Search for the permit number, work site address, or associated license number.

Search tips:

  • When searching by the permit number, include the dashes (e.g. 555-24-000001-STR).
  • When searching by the license number, include any letters or dashes.
  • When searching by the work site address:
    • The street name is not case-sensitive.
    • If the street name contains multiple words, type only the first word.
    • If the street name contains an ordinal number (e.g. 1st, 18th) and you are not able to locate the address, try spelling out the word (e.g. First, Eighteenth).
    • Do not include the direction of the street (e.g. W, SE).

This will load a list of open permits associated with that permit number, license number or address.

Scheduling a new inspection

  1. Under the permit for which you want to schedule the inspection, select Schedule a New Inspection.

  2. Select the inspection type(s) you want to schedule, then select Next. Selecting multiple inspection types will schedule them all for the same date.

    Note:
If you scroll through the list of inspections and do not see the desired inspection type, check that you're scheduling on the correct permit type, as indicated by the letters at the end of the permit number (e.g. -STR, -PLM). In most cases, the inspection type must match the permit type. For example, structural inspections cannot be scheduled on electrical permits, etc.

If the work site does not have a permit open of the correct type, visit our Online Training portal for steps to apply for the permit, or contact the issuing jurisdiction.

  3. Select the inspection date. Click on the right-facing arrow to see available dates in the following month.
    ez6.png

    Notes:
    • ePermitting cannot schedule same-day inspections after 7:00 AM. If you need to schedule an inspection for that day, contact the issuing jurisdiction.
    • Many jurisdictions will only schedule inspections in the next five available dates out. If you need to schedule farther in advance, contact the issuing jurisdiction.
    • There is not an option to schedule specific times for your inspection. The issuing jurisdiction will assign your inspection time the morning of the appointment. However, you can request a courtesy call or a preferred time of day in step 5.

  4. Enter the required information for the inspection contact: first and last name, phone number, and email address. (If the contact doesn't have an email address, it's acceptable to write 'noemail@noemail.com'.)

    Note:
Do not include any spaces or characters other than numbers in the phone number.

  5. Add any other comments the inspector needs to know, such as a gate code, preferred time of day, or a request for a courtesy call.

  6. Select Submit to schedule the inspection.
