Federal Regulators

• The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA)- Federal law regarding health information privacy.
• National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB)- Web-based repository of reports containing information on medical malpractice payments and certain adverse actions related to health care practitioners, providers, and suppliers.
• National Provider Identifier (NPI) records- Healthcare providers acquire their unique 10-digit NPIs to identify themselves in a standard way throughout their industry.

Psychology Organizations

• Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards- The national organization for psychology regulatory boards. ASPPB develops the Examination for Professional Practice in Psychology (EPPP), the national exam required for licensure. It also offers mobility programs such as the CPQ.
• American Psychological Association- List of APA accredited programs, the Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct, publications, and national psychology news.
• American Board of Professional Psychologists- Examination and certification of psychologists who demonstrate competence in approved specialty areas in professional psychology. Provides information on obtaining diplomate status.
• National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology- Advocates, promotes, and credentials health service psychologists.

• American Telemedicine Association- Provides telepractice guidelines and promotes access to medical care for consumers and health professionals via telecommunications technology.

• Oregon Psychological Association- A not-for-profit statewide professional organization comprised of Oregon psychologists that advocates for psychologists.

• Western Psychological Association- Regional professional organization.
• Lane County Psychologists' Association- Local community professional organization.

The following six Regional Accrediting Agencies are recognized by the US Secretary of Education, established to accredit senior institutions of higher education:
