FAQ: Maintaining a License

How many PDH units are required to renew?
Answer
30 PDH units in the last biennial renewal period (or biennium)​. See OAR 820-010-0635​ for details.

Why do I need to submit my Social Security Number?
Answer
The record of your Social Security number will be used for child support, administration and identification, and collection action purposes only, unless you authorize other uses of the number. Failing to provide your Social Security number on your license renewal application will result in a delay of your renewal and you will be informed to submit your Social Security number. If during the renewal process your professional license become expired, you will be categorized as “delinquent” and will be assessed an additional $80 fee.  If you have not been issued a Social Security number, please complete the Attestation And Request For Exemption From Social Security Number Requirement Form​.

Why do I have a delinquent fee?
Answer
Failure to submit your renewal and renewal fee to OSBEELS by 11:59 p.m. Pacific Standard Time (PST) on the day of the expiration date will put your registration in "delinquent" status.  Delinquent registrants are not authorized to practice in their field, may not supervise others in their field, and may not sign or apply their seal to any documents. Delinquent registrants will remain in delinquent status until the delinquent fee is paid, renewal fee is paid, and CPD verification is submitted. For more details, see OAR 820-010-0505.

How long do I have to keep records of my PDH units?
Answer

​Supporting documentation to verify the PDH units recorded on your online CPD Form must be retained for five (5) years.​ See OAR 820-010-0635​ for details.

Can I renew my expired license online?
Answer

​Licenses expired for more than one biennial renewal period (two years) cannot be renewed online.  If your license is expired for more than two years, please contact OSBEELS staff.

How do I renew my license?
Answer

​We are excited to announce during the upcoming renewal cycle, registrants will be able to complete and submit their renewal applications online via our new agency system, MyOSBEELS! The new system features secure online processes and payments, application tracking, and instant updates to your registrant profile.
Please create your new online account at https://online.myosbeels.org. Your renewal must be received by 11:59 p.m. Pacific Standard Time (PST) of the expiration date or it will be considered late. A delinquent fee of $80.00 will be assessed the first day following the expiration date of your license. As a result of submitting your renewal application online, you do not need to mail your renewal application or payment to the Board office.

Can I pay over the telephone?

​We cannot accept credit/debit cards over the telephone. Payments for online renewals must be submitted within the new agency system, MyOSBEELS.

How long will it take to process my renewal?
Answer

​3-7 business days. Renewal dates will be updated immediately upon application approval.

If I am Active-Military, how do I request Active-Military status?
Answer
  • Submit in writing the Board that you would like to go into the Active-Military status.
  • Provide a current copy of military orders.
  • Renewal fees are not required to go into the Active-Military status.

Do I need to need to enroll in MyOSBEELS in order to submit my online application within the system?
Answer

​Yes, registrants will need to enroll in the system and verify their profile prior to being able to submit their online application. Simply follow the enrollment instructions at https://online.myosbeels.org to enroll and verify your account. When can I renew my registration?
Answer

​Renewal email reminders will be sent out 90, 60 and 30 days prior to the renewal date. A green renewal button will populate in the user dashboard once the renewal window opens. ​

How do I reinstate my license?
Answer
  • If your registration or certification is in “delinquent" status, you must submit the biennial renewal fees, delinquent fees, and the required continuing professional development hours for each biennial renewal period that is missed. See OAR 820-010-0505 for details.
  • Retirees may return to active status within 5 years.
  • Suspended registrants cannot return to active status until all fees are paid and any conditions imposed by the Board are met.
  • Some registrants may not reapply for registrations. See OAR 820-010-0520​ for details.​

To change your name, address, and/or order a re-print of your certificate, please fill out the Name/Address Change & Certificate Reprint Form​ and submit to the Board office at osbeels.info@osbeels.oregon.gov.
