Our funding

ReOregon is funded through a Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and provides financial assistance to help communities recover from the 2020 Labor Day Disasters.

How funds are allocated

Through ReOregon, Oregon Housing and Community Services (OHCS) distributes CDBG-DR funds (based on an assessment of the areas most affected by the disasters) to various programs designed to meet different recovery needs. These initiatives include:

  • Housing Reconstruction: Financial aid to repair or rebuild homes destroyed by the fires.
  • Temporary Housing Assistance: Support for families needing temporary housing while permanent solutions are developed.
  • Economic Revitalization: Funding for projects that help restore and grow local businesses and infrastructure.
  • Infrastructure Repair: Projects aimed at repairing and improving critical infrastructure like water systems and public facilities.

The goal of ReOregon programs is to make sure that the most pressing and urgent needs of the affected communities are addressed to help promote long-term recovery and resilience.

For more detailed information, see the ReOregon Action Plan.
