Collective Impact Model

CAHIP and the Collective Impact Model

CAHIP uses the "collective impact" model. This model helps different groups work together on a common agenda to solve a specific social issue.

In our case, OHA and DHS are working together on objectives that reinforce each other, and together we are tracking our progress using shared metrics.

Building on our Previous Work

From 2010 to 2012, OHA’s Tobacco Prevention and Education Program worked with OHA/DHS programs to reduce tobacco use among groups who are more likely to smoke. The project was called the Tobacco Control Integration Project or TCIP. This work led to many successes, including tobacco-free state propertiesRead the TCIP Final Report (pdf).

CAHIP builds on the success of this project. We carry forward the work of TCIP, with broader goals around reducing risk factors for chronic disease – including tobacco use, nutrition and physical activity. Our work reaches OHA/DHS clients, consumers and employees.
