Distribution and Treatment Systems Levels 1-4

All community and non-transient non-community water systems must be under the supervision of a certified operator. Trained and certified operators are necessary to ensure that the systems are managed in a manner that fully protects public health and the environment.

Operator certification requires applying for and passing a written exam, every other year certification renewal fees and the acquisition of continuing education units. Experience and education requirements must be met before acceptance to an exam.

Additional Information

Direct Responsible Charge (DRC) Designation Form - Water systems are required to submit a direct responsible charge designation form to Drinking Water Services within 30 days of any change of DRC operator.
