About Climate and Social Resilience
When it comes to climate change adaptation, certain hard infrastructure improvements need to be made (e.g. higher bridges, deeper wells, etc.). However, a growing body of research indicates social resilience (such as a community’s level of social cohesion or social capital) as key protective factors in enabling communities to effectively prepare, respond and adapt to climate stressors (as well as non-climate stressors) in healthy and innovative ways.
