2003/2004 School Year
Oregon Healthy Teens (OHT) is Oregon’s effort to monitor the health and well-being of adolescents. One goal of this collaborative project is to provide county-level information for communities to use in identifying key issues of concern, and in planning and evaluating efforts to improve outcomes for young people. The graphs show key health indicators for youth risk behavior and provide a comparison for the county or region to state prevalence, at 8th and 11th grades.
In addition to the graphs, you can also view or download tables for each county, containing all of the questions asked on the survey. Finally, the left column under each grade indicates the number of surveys from that county and grade. (To see the complete surveys, visit the Youth Surveys page.)
In many locations, the number of students and/or the number of schools was too small to report county level information. For this reason, counties were grouped into Service Delivery Areas of the Department of Human Services, or to slightly larger groupings where necessary, to ensure that the data can more accurately represent the youth of the area. Note that in some counties, no schools participated.
We urge county health agencies, community planning groups, and schools to participate in Oregon Healthy Teens, so that they can use the information to develop and support activities and environments that encourage healthy behaviors and healthy lives.
