Continuing Education

Continuing Education Units (CEUs) need to be obtained during the three years that you are certified. Each worker type has different requirements for certification renewal. For CEU requirements for each worker type, please click link below:

As part of the CEU requirements, ALL Traditional Health Workers (THWs) seeking certification renewal are required to complete at least three (3) hours of Suicide Prevention training.

CEUs may be received from:

OHA approved THW CEU training programs; you can find a list of OHA approved CEU trainings on our THW Training Programs webpage
Additonal trainings offered by OHA approved THW training programs
Any other OHA approved training or event
Any educational hours that support the individual THW's scope of work

**Note: If you are unsure if a training meets CEU requirements for your worker type, please email a brief description of the training and the training name to THW.Program@oha.oregon.gov for approval.
