DEQ Onsite Septic Program Transitioning to Coos County
Coos County will officially assume administration of the onsite septic program from DEQ on April 1, 2025. Oregon ePermitting, the online permitting portal, will be unavailable for Coos County for one week during the transition. The portal reopens April 4.

Under OAR 340-071-0120, the Oregon DEQ has entered into agreements with some Oregon counties authorizing those counties to become the department's agents for permitting onsite systems, including receiving and processing applications, issuing permit, enforcing, and performing required inspections.
