The Built Environment Strategic Plan marks an expansion and deepening of DEQ's Materials Management approach to strategic planning and builds upon the work of the built environment program over the past ten years.
The plan centers equity, environmental justice, and racial justice. Our work in the built environment is assumed to exist as inextricable to this foundation.
The plan is developed as an iterative, living document that anticipates emerging issues which may not be readily seen in this moment, but will be revealed in the coming months and years.
The plan invites co-creation and prioritizes building relationships. This was initiated from the outset in the development of the plan and is fundamental to the ongoing work.
