On behalf of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council Events Subcommittee, thank you to all who attended our 2023 Hispanic and Latino Heritage Month Crucial Conversation on Sept. 19. Also, a heartfelt, big thank you to our panel members for their participation and for being willing to share their experiences as they relate to their heritage and culture. To our panel and all our Hispanic and Latino peers, co-workers, and friends: We see you. We recognize you. We celebrate you.
Our panel was comprised of DCBS employees from multiple divisions. They were vulnerable in sharing with us a wide variety of topics based on their personal lived experiences in relation to their heritage and cultures. From food and culture to workplace equity and inclusion, their honesty gave us new insights and offered valuable learning experiences for the audience.
