Impaired Resources Listing

The following resource list is intended for informational purposes only; the items listed are not specifically endorsed by the Oregon State Board of Nursing.  If there are additional resources not listed below, please contact us for consideration.

 

  1. Nurse Assistance Network (NAN)
    Response Line: (888-516-2796)
    Provide Referrals to link nurses to helpful resources; develop a network of local support resources, conduct outreach to raise awareness through education.
  2. Professional Recovery Network of Oregon
    Volunteer effort to support Health Professionals who can benefit from developing a program of recovery from substance use or Mental Health Disorder. The overarching goal is to reach fellow colleagues before substance use and mental health problems cause impairment or before impairment becomes a danger to the community and, thus, a licensing problem.  Serving three key audiences:
    • Those in crisis and need information immediately.
    • Those in recovery who need information about recovery support.
    • Those who are concerned about someone else and seeking resources
  3. Florence’s Lamp: Support for Chemically Dependent Nurses
    Phone: Kim (503-830-8722) or Eunice (503-538-9850).
    Providence Milwaukie Hospital, 10150 SE 32nd Ave., Milwaukie, OR 97222. Meets first Sunday of every month from noon - 1 pm in the Mother Theresa Room.  Open to RNs and LPNs.
  4. Caduceus: Closed Recovery Meetings Open to Nurses and Physicians
    • Portland Caduceus:  Good Samaritan Medical Center, Wilcox Building Room A, 22nd and NW Marshall, Portland. Meets Wednesdays at 7pm.
    • Eugene Caduceus: Sacred Heart Hospital, Support Services Area-Conference Rm A, Tuesday Evenings -7:30pm.
    • Roseburg Caduceus: Redeemer Building, 729 SE Jackson St. Contact: Jim (541-817-3379). Monday -7 p.m.
    • Southern Oregon Caduceus:  2555 Old Military Road, Central Point, Oregon. Contact: Jim (541-773-4136. First Thursday of each month 6 p.m.
    • Bend Caduceus: Fist Nazarene Church, Fireside Room. Contact: Dan (541-771-9582). Tuesday- noon.
  5. Re-Entry: A Guide for Nurses Dealing With Substance Use Disorder
    Authored by  Karolyn Crowley, RN and Carrie Morgan. Available through Sigma Theta Tau International, Honor Society of Nursing, and other booksellers.
