Resources for First-Time Home Buyers

If you are buying a home, the Oregon Health Authority recommends that you test the home for radon during the inspection process. Radon testing is not required in Oregon at the time of sale, but the buyer can request a test. If results show elevated levels of radon in the home, the buyer may be able to negotiate with the seller to have a radon mitigation system installed.
