Operator Certification Experience Calculator

The experience calculator tool is meant to give you an idea of how much distribution and treatment experience you currently have. If you think you have enough experience to qualify for operator certification, you can complete the application and submit your paperwork. Keep in mind this experience calculator may not be exact because there are lots of substitutions that can happen with post high school education, which this tool does not take into account.

  • Applying for an OIT (operator in training)? You only need 3 months of experience.
  • For FE certification, you must already have a Treatment Level 2 certification. You must also have one year of ODM at Level 2 or higher.
  • Water and Environmental Technology (WET) programs are 1 or 2 year programs, and automatically qualify you to apply for a Level 1 certification. The only schools currently approved are: Clackamas Community College, Linn Benton Community College, and Umpqua Community College.
