About Extreme Heat

Extreme heat events, or heat waves, are when the tempertaure is much hotter and/or humid than average. It is a leading cause of weather-related deaths in the United States, with the number of extremely hot days rising across the nation. Oregon recorded its hottest years in state history during the last five years, and this trend is expected to continue as extreme heat events become more frequent.
