2016 is the last year to begin participation in the Medicaid EHR Incentive Program

Deadline to attest is May 31, 2017

To qualify for the Medicaid EHR Incentive Program, health care professionals must meet certain criteria:

  1. Be an eligible professional (EP) type
  2. Be an enrolled Oregon Medicaid provider
  3. Meet patient volume requirements
  4. Demonstrate one of the following:

Key information for 2016 first year participants:

  • Attestations are being accepted now and until May 31, 2017.
  • Participation is on a yearly basis for up to six years.
  • The Medicaid EHR Incentive Program will end in 2021.
  • You may attest to either meaningful use or adopt, implement, or upgrade (AIU) of 2014 or 2015-certified EHR Technology (CEHRT). If applying under AIU:
    • You may sign a contract for CEHRT up until the deadline of May 31, 2017.
  • Your Medicaid patient volume may be calculated from any consecutive 90-day period within:
    • 2015, or
    • 12 months prior to the date you attest to the program (e.g., attest 3/21/17, you can use patient volume 12/21/2016 - 3/20/2017)
  • The first year payment is $21,250 and the remaining payments are $8,500 totaling $63,750.
