The Health Licensing Office (HLO) and the Board of Cosmetology (Board) are currently seeking Natural Hair Care Authorization holders to serve on the Natural Hair Care Qualification Committee (Committee).

The purpose of the Committee is to evaluate the Natural Hair Care Training Module and examination, including statistical data for each examination domain and question content, to ensure that each candidate meets baseline competencies. 

To qualify to serve on the Committee, each member must:

• Hold an active certification in Natural Hair Care; and
• Have no current or pending disciplinary action.

Natural Hair Care authorization holders are the subject and content experts, so attendance and participation are essential. Before you complete the Natural Hair Care Qualification Committee Interest Form, be sure you can attend the Committee meetings, which will be held on February 6 and March 12, 2024. All Committee meetings will be held in person, beginning at 9 a.m. at 1430 Tandem Ave., Suite 180, Salem, OR 97301.

If you know of other Natural Hair Care authorization holders who may be interested in serving on the Committee, please forward this information to them. Interest forms must be received no later than December 22, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. (noon) to be considered.
