WIC Farm Direct Participants

The Farm Direct program season is June 1 through November 30.

You need to be enrolled in WIC to get Farm Direct Dollars. Contact your local WIC clinic to learn how to enroll in WIC or to receive Farm Direct for the current season. Participation does not affect medical assistance or SNAP (Food Stamps) benefits.

How to shop with your Farm Direct Dollars

1. Visit a participating farmers market or farm stand. Find a location.

2. Look for these signs to find produce farmers who accept Farm Direct or ask market staff for assistance.

3. Choose the fresh, locally grown fruits, vegetables or cut edible herbs you want to buy.
4. Pay the farmer with your Farm Direct Dollars.

Tips for shopping with Farm Direct Dollars

  • Choose only locally grown produce (no bananas, oranges, pineapples, etc.)
  • You can use one voucher at a time, or all at once. With one farmer or more!
  • Farmers cannot provide change, so plan to spend the whole $4 amount of each.
  • Review the season dates of your local markets and farm stands and shop before they close for the year.
  • Keep in a safe place. Lost or stolen Farm Direct Dollars cannot be replaced.
  • If possible, bring your own shopping bag or basket.
  • Spend by November 30, 2024.
  • Farm Direct Dollars are not accepted at regular grocery stores.
