Clinical Guidelines for Nurse Home Visitors

The Nurse Home Visiting Clinical Guidelines have been developed for use by Babies First!, CaCoon, Nurse-Family Partnership and Family Connects Oregon programs. Nurse-Family Partnership and Family Connects Oregon programs should also use program-specific guidelines, where applicable.

Local programs should use the assessment tools indicated in these guidelines or program models.
If programs use assessment tools other than those delineated by the guidelines or program
models, those tools should be evaluated for appropriateness (e.g., evidence-based, validated, equitable, etc.).

Local implementing agencies are responsible for having appropriate local guidelines in place for any other clinical care expected by local program staff and not addressed by these guidelines (e.g., wound care, fluoride varnish).
