Gonorrhea

Gonorrhea is a common sexually transmitted infection caused by the bacterium Neisseria gonorrhoeae. Gonorrhea is spread through sexual contact and can also be passed from an untreated woman to her baby during childbirth. Many people do not have symptoms and are unaware that they have the infection. If untreated, infections in women can lead to serious reproductive health problems. Gonorrhea can be cured with antibiotic medications.
