Training Registration: City of Independence

City of Independence Public Meetings & Ethics Law Training

On January 25, 2025, we will be providing an in-person training on Oregon Government Ethics Law and Public Meetings Law in the City of Independence. These trainings are for all public officials whether you are an employee, volunteer, elected official, or appointed official. Public officials from any agency are welcome to attend. Please register below to ensure that we have space for everyone.

Both sessions will be live, interactive 2.5 hour trainings. The first session will cover Public Meetings Law as contained in ORS Chapter 192 OAR Chapter 199. Attendees who stay for the entirety of the training will meet the training requirement in ORS 192.700 and will receive certificates of completion after the training is completed. The second session will cover Oregon Government Ethics Law including Conflicts of Interest, Use of Position, Nepotism, and Gifts as contained in ORS Chapter 244 / OAR Chapter 199. To supplement the trainings, there will be examples and time for questions and discussion around the topics covered.
