This course is part of the Oregon Department of Transportation's strategy to improve statewide consistency in our highway construction program.
What does this course cover?
The goal of the Erosion and Sediment Control Manager Certification (ESCM) course is to provide individuals with practical ESCM knowledge. It also reviews standard industry practices for performing erosion and sediment control management activities on ODOT projects. This course will equip ESC managers to exercise their responsibility in verifying compliance with project requirements. It covers the ODOT Standard Specification 00280.30 and federal mandates. This course will not cover the Oregon DEQ 1200-C permit.
Who should take this course?
The ESCM certification is targeted for our contractor audience and only valid on ODOT projects with our DEQ 1200-CA permit. It is not valid for DEQ 1200-C permitted projects which may include local agencies, municipalities, private businesses, etc. (It is highly recommended that the agency-side inspector take the Environmental Construction Inspector Certification course.)
Certified persons must understand their responsibility to ensure compliance with contract documents and permit requirements.
For erosion and sediment control resources, visit ODOT Geo-Environmental Erosion and Sediment.
How long is the certification valid?
This certification is valid for three years with successful passing of the course exam.
