About the Project

We're iGold Hill Bridgemproving the existing 1927 historic bridge that crosses the Rogue River, which is famous for its beauty and recreational opportunities. This bridge receives heavy pedestrian traffic as it also provides access between the City of Gold Hill and a mobile home park. For the bridge to remain in service it needs repairs.

We plan to:

  • Widen the existing 20' wide bridge deck to 24' wide.
  • Uupgrade the existing timber walkway for pedestrians that is compliant with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Widen and strengthen this bridge to handle today's traffic while keeping the historic integrity of the bridge. It’s anticipated this project will close the bridge to traffic during construction. A comprehensive traffic control plan and outreach to community and region traffic users will be critical to project success.

To remove the posted weight restriction, improve safety and mobility for all modes, including transit, emergency services and freight on this critical crossing into Gold Hill and Sams Valley area.

The new bridge deck will be wider and stronger to properly accommodate freight, transit, emergency vehicles and the traveling public.

Construction is anticipated to begin in Spring 2026 through Summer 2027.
