Variances
A variance is an exception to a specific requirement described in Oregon Administrative Rule (OAR). It describes an alternative practice that meets an individual's support needs.
Providers file a variance request using
form 6001. Submit it directly to your local CDDP for review and approval. The CDDP will forward your signed request to us for review and approval.
We require a separate variance request for each OAR, individual and site. If an individual's residence or work location changes, you must submit a new variance request.
You must maintain a copy of your current approved variance onsite and keep it available for review.
Capacity changes
A capacity change request formally asks ODDS to increase or decrease a 24-hour residential site's licensed capacity. After discussion with the local CDDP, providers complete the
Change of Capacity form and submit the form directly to
ODDS Licensing for review and approval.
Provider payments
The ODDS Licensing Unit certifies, licenses and monitors providers. We are not involved in the provider enrollment or payment systems. We report all licensing activity - new entity, renewal, capacity change, closure - nightly through an automated system to the eXPRS Authorization and Payment Unit.
If you have authorization or payment issues, contact the eXPRS system team at
info.exprs@odhs.oregon.gov for support or technical assistance.
