CPR Certification
Every actively licensed Oregon optometrist must ensure continuous CPR certification.
At initial licensure, a hands-on skills and knowledge-based CPR course is required.
After initial licensure, online CPR courses are acceptable to the Board.
Oregon law requires BLS Healthcare Provider CPR certification as a condition of optometry license renewal.
A copy of the current CPR card must be submitted with the inital license application. At renewal or reporting a new certification, licensees may upload a copy of their CPR certification, but are not required to.
A CPR course is not considered continuing optometric education and no CE credit is given for CPR certification. The Oregon Administrative Rule which applies to CPR certification requirements for AT and ATI certification is OAR 852-080-0040(2)(e).
