Announcing the RADIO Conference: May 6th - 8th in Salem!
The Radio Activities and Discussions on Interoperability in Oregon (RADIO) Conference is hosted by the State Interoperability Executive Council (SIEC). This conference is designed for public safety professionals who manage, operate, build, and support public safety communications systems including 9-1-1, Land Mobile Radio, Alerts and Warnings, and Public Safety Broadband.
This event provides the public safety industry in Oregon with a platform to discuss and learn about interoperability. The conference draws attendees from all over the Pacific Northwest who are active in public safety, including emergency communications, law enforcement, fire service, emergency medical services, emergency management, critical infrastructure, and other government agencies, participate in this conference.
Vendors showcase their latest equipment, products, software, and services for Oregon's public safety and emergency communications ecosystem segments. The conference aims to provide high-quality professional development training and encourage the entire emergency communications ecosystem to collaborate with industry partners to discuss interoperability and emergency communications.
The theme of this year's conference continues to focus on enabling "Connections for Critical Communications" and aims to bring individuals from across Oregon together to focus on three professional development tracks:
- Best Practices: Learning from our Successes and our Failures
- Emerging Technology and the Future of Emergency Communications
- It's About the People: Supporting Oregon's Emergency Communications Workforce

Where and When will the Conference be held?
The conference will take place May 6-8th in Salem. The Oregon Joint APCO/NENA Chapter meeting with kick off the conference the morning of the May 6th, followed by education sessions. The SIEC will hold a public meeting on the afternoon of the 6th, followed by technology demonstrations.
May 7th will include three tracks of education content followed by a keynote delivered by Amanda Winans, Deputy SWIC and State Watch Center Manager from the North Carolina Division of Emergency Management and an award ceremony honoring the 2025 Interoperability Champion Award Recipients.
The Conference will conclude on May 8th with a Cyber Resilient 911 Workshop hosted in partnership with the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA).

Interoperability Champion Awards
The designation of “Interoperability Champion” is an honor that recognizes and celebrates individuals, teams, and organizations who have demonstrated a commitment to serving the people of Oregon and who has made significant contributions to achieving the State Interoperability Executive Council and the Statewide Interoperability Program’s shared vision of “Seamless, interoperable and resilient emergency communications throughout Oregon.” Recognition may be made for leadership, advocacy, advancements in technology, or for developing innovative solutions addressing known interoperability gaps within the state.
