OPSA has numerous prospects for a variety of fire
training opportunities and is welcome to all fire service agencies
looking to take advantage of what the campus has to offer. The facility
includes a four-story tactical and fire training tower where fire and
smoke scenarios can be generated by a computer-based ignition system.
Another academy venue called “City Streets" replicates a community with
streets, houses, businesses, professional buildings, a school, derailed
hazmat train cars, trucks, bus stops, school busses, ambulances and a
driving track/skills pad for drivers' training. With all these tools at
the disposal of the academy staff, there are endless possibilities to
creating realistic training scenarios for Oregon's public safety
students and professionals.
