To date more than 190 line of duty deaths have been approved for the memorial wall from as far back as the 1860's.  The memorial honors all aspects of Oregon law enforcement service including city, county, and state police officers; county and state corrections officers; parole and probation officers; and other local, state, and federal law enforcement agents and officers.  The construction of the memorial was completed and dedicated on May 15, 1991.  It was moved to the new academy in Salem and rededicated during the annual ceremony May 11, 2006. The Oregon Law Enforcement Memorial Trust Fund 501(c)3 is honored to host the annual memorial ceremony that is held on the first Tuesday of every May.
