DEQ and Metro have completed an initial assessment of how we can recycle and recover more plastic after its initial use. More efficient plastics recycling has the potential to create new energy and greenhouse gas savings for all Oregonians. This project involved a collaboration with other states, recycling businesses, equipment manufacturers, industry and environmental groups, and local government agencies to evaluate different programs and methodologies that have the potential to increase plastics recovery. Reclay StewardEdge, with assistance from Cascadia Consulting Group, served as the contractor for compilation of data and conducting analysis and evaluation for this project.
