Food Waste Prevention Week

Food Waste Prevention Week Oregon: April 7 – 13, 2025

The Department of Environmental Quality actively sponsors and participates in Food Waste Prevention Week, an educational campaign dedicated to fostering cultural change to reduce food waste. This initiative aims to educate consumers on how to save money, mitigate the environmental impact of food waste, and address hunger within our communities.

Since 2022, DEQ has collaborated with local governments and non-governmental organizations to promote Food Waste Prevention Week throughout the state. We are proud to have over 50 registered local partners and continue to expand our network. Register as a partner.
