Interpreter services program

Need an interpreter?

The Workers' Compensation Board provides interpreters for its hearings and mediations at no cost. Many languages are available. Interpreter requests should be submitted at least three weeks before the hearing or mediation.

Once an interpreter request has been submitted to WCB, there is no need for a second request if the hearing is for the same claimant.

Request an interpreter

  • Hearing request form: is available thru the Portal and online as a Word document or PDF file. Check the box Interpreter needed and type the language. At the time the request for hearing is filed, if you know an interpreter is going to be needed, add the information to the request for hearing form. Be specific about your interpreter needs: the language, dialect, and the anticipated length of the hearing if it is expected to last more than two hours.
  • Online: If you want to request an interpreter for a future WCB hearing, complete the online Interpreter Request form.
  • Email: Interpreter Services Coordinator at interpreterinfo.wcb@oregon.gov
  • By phone: Interpreter Services Coordinator at 503-934-0146.
  • If you reach the voicemail, leave your message in English, so we can help you.

Interpreter services cancellations

When a party or a party's attorney becomes aware that interpreter services are no longer needed, the attorney for the party, or the unrepresented party, must notify the assigned ALJ. (See ALJ/Judicial Assistant list)
