In December 2019, the Army Corps of Engineers submitted the Willamette River Basin Review Reallocation Study to the United States Congress. The study's recommended plan was developed in coordination and consultation with federal, state, local agencies, and tribes. The recommended plan represents a compromise among various interests and sectors throughout the basin. There is a strong interest and desire among agencies, basin stakeholders, and others to contribute to a longer-term water management plan and the finer points of implementation.
In November 2017, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers released a draft report for public comment regarding the reallocation of storage from the Willamette Valley project reservoirs.
